Recently, the KR150C rotary drilling rig equipped with a Caterpillar chassis, independently developed by Jiangsu TYSIM RENTAL & SERVICE Co., Ltd.
Recently, the KR150C rotary drilling rig equipped with a Caterpillar chassis, independently developed by Jiangsu TYSIM RENTAL & SERVICE Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “TYSIM”), has been operating continuously and efficiently at a large-scale factory construction project in the capital city of a Middle Eastern country. Thanks to its outstanding performance and stable operation tailored to complex local geological conditions, the machine has become the core equipment for pile foundation construction on this project, fully demonstrating the strong competitiveness of Chinese construction machinery in the international market.

Factory Construction Confronts Complex Geological Challenges
The factory construction project is located in the suburban area of the capital of a Middle Eastern country, near the Jordan Rift Valley, and only 25 kilometers away from the seismically active Dead Sea fault zone. The geological conditions are extremely complex, with certain karst weathering characteristics, posing stringent requirements on equipment stability, borehole accuracy, and seismic adaptability for pile foundation construction.According to the project manager, the factory will be used for high-end manufacturing after completion, which places very high demands on foundation bearing capacity. A large number of drilling operations with strict requirements on pile verticality are required. Therefore, the selection of construction equipment directly determines the project schedule and overall quality.

Key Parameters: Precise Matching of Engineering Requirements and Overcoming Construction Difficulties
In response to the geological characteristics and engineering requirements of this project, the TYSIM KR150C rotary drilling rig demonstrated highly precise parameter matching capabilities. The rig features a maximum drilling diameter of 1,500 mm and a maximum drilling depth of 51 m, fully meeting the project’s pile foundation requirements of 1,200 mm diameter and an average drilling depth of 35 m.In complex strata with alternating soft chalk rock and limestone, the KR150C, with a maximum output torque of 150 kN·m, achieved efficient rock breaking and drilling. This effectively addressed challenges such as difficult hole formation and a high risk of borehole collapse caused by uneven rock weathering. The technical director of the construction contractor commented:“While improving drilling efficiency by approximately 30% compared to expectations, the KR150C also ensures better pile verticality than similar machines under the same geological conditions, laying a solid foundation for subsequent reinforcement cage installation and concrete pouring.”

Performance Core: Caterpillar Chassis Empowerment for Complex Construction Environments
The OEM Caterpillar chassis specially designed for rotary drilling rigs, mounted on the TYSIM KR150C, has become a key advantage in adapting to local construction conditions. Some areas of the site feature gentle slopes, and the powerful climbing capability provided by the Caterpillar chassis ensures flexible maneuvering and stable positioning even on uneven terrain. In addition, the 700 mm wide track shoes combined with an adjustable track gauge of 2,700–3,700 mm significantly increase ground contact area on soft soil layers. This effectively prevents machine displacement caused by ground settlement during construction and ensures borehole accuracy. Moreover, the high reliability and stability of the chassis are well suited to construction environments near seismically active zones, providing dual assurance for overall project safety.

Industry Significance: Small and Medium Rotary Drilling Rigs Become a New Calling Card for “Made-in-China” Going Global
As a domestic leasing enterprise specializing in small and medium-sized rotary drilling rigs for industrial, civil construction, and power grid applications, TYSIM has successfully leveraged its Caterpillar-underframe-equipped KR150C equipment on the construction site, further opening a breakthrough in the Middle Eastern market. This not only serves as a critical performance validation of China’s high-end engineering machinery equipment in complex international geological environments but also demonstrates the value of Chinese infrastructure technology and solutions as they become deeply integrated into the global industrial chain.
Looking ahead, with the continuous advancement of the Belt and Road Initiative and the growing global demand for infrastructure upgrades, Chinese engineering machinery service providers represented by TYSIM will continue to rely on technological innovation and equipment adaptability to deeply participate in high-standard international construction projects. In broader geological and market environments, they will consistently deliver safe, efficient, and reliable "Made in China" solutions, contributing Chinese wisdom and strength to global engineering construction.
